Description |
In recent years, extensive research is being carried out to develop an electronic instrument that mimics the olfactory system. The concept of electronic nose combined with pattern recognition technique was originated in 1982 and the first commercial instrument was introduced in 1993. The electronic nose has been devised to assess odour objectively, by predicting human sensory response from physical measurements.
