Description |
Experiments were conducted to study reproduction and lactation performance and effect of long term feeding in rats fed diet containing refined sal fat. Results obtained revealed that reproduction and lactation performance of rats fed a 15 per cent sal fat diet over three generations was comparable to those fed refined groundnut oil or hydrogenated vegetable oil at similar levels. Blood picture, organ weights, plasma lipid, cholesterol and glucose levels were found to be comparable in rats fed 15 or 30 per cent of sal fat, groundnut oil or hydrogenated vegetable oil for 9 months No abnormal effects of feeding salt fat were observed. |
