Description |
Supplementation with l-lysine increased the PER of a poor pearl millet diet (PPD) increased to a highly significant extent from 2.40 to 3.38. Addition of threonine or methionine or a mixture of both along with lysine did not bring about any further increase in PER. The results have shown that lysine is the most limiting amino acid in the poor pearl millet diet and its protein quality could be effectively improved by for~ification with lysine alone. |
