Description A simple method is described for the estimation of
insecticides belonging to polychlorinated dimethanonaphthalene
group, viz. aldrin, dieldrin and endrin.
The m.ethod, based on rendering two chlorine atoms
in the insecticide m.olecuie labile with sodium m.onoethanolamine
reagent, consists in heating c. 5 mg. of the
insecticide with 1 111.1. mono or dlethanolamlne and
0ยท2-0'5 g. sodinm metal at lOO~tHrC.in glass_stoppered
