Description Fishes commonly known as stargazers, of thefamily Uranoscopidae, is emerging as a lucrativefishery along the Pamban coast of Tamil Nadu. Thefish is generally characterized by large head, dorsolaterally directed eyes placed on the large flattenedhead, dark brownish body and head with or withoutirregular whitish blotches on the back. The fisheswere landed at Pamban Light House landing centreby fibre boats having an overall length (OAL) of 8m, fitted with a 60 hp engine.
