Description A field experiment was conducted in the Department Of Vegetable Science in the year 2014-2015 to evaluate the effect of different combinations of organic, inorganic and biofertilizers in a short duration green crop like coriander cv. Surabi. There were 8 numbers of treatments i.e T1 (Control) , T2 (FYM @ 5 t/ha alone), T3(RDF 100%) ,T4 (biofertilizers (Azotobacter + Azospirillum+ PSB)) , T5(FYM+ biofertilizers ( Azotobacter + Azospirillum+ PSB)), T6(FYM +RDF (50%) + biofertilizers (Azotobacter + Azospirillum+ PSB)), T7 ((FYM+RDF(75%) + biofertilizers ( Azotobacter + Azospirillum + PSB)), T8(FYM+RDF(100%)+ biofertilizers( Azotobacter+ Azospirillum + PSB) combinations with 3 replications executed in randomized block design. The crop has been given all the recommended package of practices and grown during rabi season. The results revealed a significant increase in vegetative characters like plant height, number of primary branches, number of compound leaves per plant, leaf area, chlorophyll content , plant weight, leaf weight in the treatments where FYM + RDF(100%) + biofertilizers( Azotobacter + Azospirillum + PSB) was used. Further the herbage yield was also in the same trend in these treatments. But the treatments where 75% of fertilizer alongwith FYM and biofertlizers( Azotobacter + Azospirillum + PSB) was used exhibited the at par result in respect to the vegetative characters and yield. But the B:C ratio of the treatment where 75% RDF along with FYM and biofertilizer was used, expressed highest value (2.14) which was at par with the treatments where 50% RDF alongwith FYM and biofertilizer ( Azotobacter+ Azospirillum + PSB) was used. Hence the substitution of 25% of inorganic fertilizer by the biofertilizers is cost effective in rabi coriander under coastal plains of Odisha.
