Description The present investigations aimed at studying the
mean performance and stability of some of the released and
pre-released genotypes of rice and black gram evolved by
Andhra Pradesh Agriculture University CAPAU>. The data were
collected from the multilocation trials conducted at different
research stations under APAU. The stability model given
by Eberhart and Russell (1966) was used to evaluate the mean
performance and stability for genotypes studied under three
environments and pooled analysis and 't' test for the mean
performance of genotypes evaluated under two environments as
suggested by Nigam and Gupta (1979). Rice genotypes WGL-44753 and IR-62 were found
superior to RNR-10244, RNR-99154,RNR-18642 and WGL-47210 in
medium kharif 1985. In rabi 1985 NLR-26706 and RNR-98413
~erformed better than RNR-99242, WGL-26358, WGL-39966, MTU-
2099, RNR-98357, IR-60 and MTU-8922. Genotype IET-7991 was
superior to IET-7995, WGL-33808, WGL-45843 and IET-7617 in
early kharif 1986. IET-9333, WGL-47969, T-145 and IET-9994
were yielded better than RNR-18642, RGL-9606, RGL-9589 and
RGL-9592 during medium kharif season 1986. In early rabi 1986
no significant differences were found between the genotypes
RNR -10213, RNR-10205, RGL-1255,WGL-39966 and WGL-45843.
Varieties WGL-33803, MTU-70·14,MTU-9842 and WGL45843
were superior to IET-7617, IET-7995 and IET-7991 during
early kharif 1987. No significant differences were found
between NCL-T-·145, WGL-47964, WGL48684, RGL-9606, RGL-9592
and RGL-9589 during medium kharif 1987. In 1989 medium kharif
no significant differences were noticed between the genotypes
RNR-99378, WGL-3943, WGL-3962, RDR-8698, RDR-294, RDR 8702
and NLR-33057. No significant differences were recorded
between genotypes NLR-30426, NLR-33055, RNR-98357 and IR-64
tested during early rabi 1989.
Studies on stability of different rice genotypes in
different environments revealed that genotypes tested during
rabi 1985 NLR-26706 found to be stable, RNR-99242 and RNR-
98413 observed to be suitable for more favourable environments
and RNR-98357, MTU-2099 and WGL-9966 recorded to be
suitable for poor environments. Among genotypes tested during
early kharif 1987 MTU-9842 observed to be stable, WGL-33808
and WGL-45843 noticed to be suitable for better environments,
whereas IET-7617 found to be suitable for poor environments.
Evaluation of mean performance of different black
gram genotypes in differed experiments showed that genotypes
LBG-384, LBG-402, LBG-329, LBG-185, Nethiminumu, LBG-330 and
LBG-336 were super·ior to LBG-415, LBG-153, LBG-30, LBG-17 and
LBG-8 during rice fallows 1985-86, 86-87 and 87-88 at RARS
Lam. UPU-9-40-4 recorded highest yield and on par with PU-30
(C), PDU-5, TAU-2, TAU-4, LBG-20, NPRB-1 PDU-101, PDU-10 AND
LBG-613 during kharif 1987 a~d kharif 1988 at ARS, Warangal.
Varieties LBG-626, LBG-629, LBG-622, LBG-621, LBG-619, LBG-
625, LBG-620 and LBG-615 were performed better than other
test genotypes. During kharif 1988-89, rice fallows 1988-89
and kharif 1989-90 at RARS Lam, LBG-626, LBG-629, LBG-622,
LBG-621, LBG-619, LBG-625, LBG-620 and LBG-615 were yielded
better than other tested genotypes.
Studies on stability of different black gram genotypes
in different experiments conducted at RARS Lam revealed
that LBG-330 was stable, LBG-384 and LBG-336 were suited for
better environments and LBG-415 and LBG-30 were suitable for
poor environments during rice fallows 1985086, 1986-87 and
1987-88. Genotype LBG-625 found to be stable, LBG-626 and
LBG-629 observed to be suited for better environments and
LBG-614, LBG-616 LBG-624 and LBG-630 noticed to be suitable
for poor environments.
