Description |
Four species belonging to the genus Rhopalophthalmus - R. mumbayensis, R. anishi, R. murudana, R. vijayai - are described as new to science. All four species are distinguishable from each other and from other related species by the combination of characters afforded by the number of spines on the antennal sympod, number of carpopropodal segments of the thoracic endopods, relative length of the vestigial endopod of the eighth thoracic limb, number of lateral spines on the telson and the relative length of the distal spines.
