Description |
Simultaneous calibration of three Honeywell pressure transducers (PPTR) at four ambient temperatures have been carried out using a novel static calibration system developed in-house. Calibration results indicated that differing PPTRs exhibited differing zero-point offset values ranging from 2mbar to - 79mbar. The least performance was exhibited below approx. or equal to 1250mbar. Hysteresis was significant, and the mean over full-scale range varied from approx. or equal to 2mbar to 8mbar over temperature range of 10-40 degrees C. However, temperature sensitivity of zero-point offset and the slope of least-squares-fitted linear graph were negligible. Linearity was excellent, its mean over the entire pressure range being within approx. or equal to 0.006% and 0.008% over this temperature range. Zero-point offset has played a significant role in deteriorating the accuracy of the PPTR, the mean accuracy (within approx. or equal to 0.1% and -5%) having been exhibited by those having offsets of 2mbar and -79mbar respectively. The mean accuracy also displayed temperature sensitivity of approx. or equal to 1% in the range 10-20 degrees C, and negligible sensitivity beyond 20 degrees C. Use of calibration equation significantly improved the mean accuracy obtainable from the PPTR, to within -0.04% and 0.01%.
