Description The objectives of the BOBMEX-Oceanography Component programme is to understand: (1) Variability of upper ocean currents in relation to changing wind and thermohaline forcings, (2) Upper ocean thermodynamic processes on intra-seasonal scale, (3) Air-sea coupling and (4) Relationship between marine sulphur emissions and aerosols in atmospheric boundary layer. The National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Goa, India and Indian Institute of Sciences (IISc), Bangalore, India are the lead organisations for the oceanographic and atmospheric components of the BOBMEX project. This report is concerned only with the ocean component of the BOBMEX project handled by NIO, and the results are placed in this report.
