Shrimp farming has grown into a multi-crore industry in India. It has vast potential for further expansion. However, this growing industry needs to develop appropriate indigenous technologies in specific areas to make it a sustainable and profitable venture. This paper looks into some important areas pertaining to Indian condition and highlights the need for developing and refining indigenous technologies.
