Description |
Experiments conducted for standardizing sperm density for artificial insemination and inducing gynogenesis by ultra-violet rays irradiated sperms in Chlamys nobilis showed that 10:1 ratio of sperms to eggs, gave maximum rate of fertilization and normal development of the veliger larvae. Insemination of eggs with sperms exposed to 5700 to 10260 ergs. mm/2 of UV irradiation induced gynogenetic haploidy.
