Description |
The objectives of the present study were to isolate and identify fungi from deep-sea sediments of the Central Indian Basin (CIB) using culture-dependent as well as culture-independent approaches by molecular methods. Further, the effect of simulated deep-sea conditions was analyzed on the growth, spore germination and protein profiles of a few selected cultures in order to understand their adaptation strategies under such extreme conditions
