Description |
The occurrence of submarine silicic volcanics is rare at the mid-oceanic ridges, abyssal depths, seamounts and fracture zones. Hydrothermal processes are active in submarine silicic environments and are associated with host ores of Cu, Au, Ag, Pb, Zn, Mo, etc. Here we present the globally occurring submarine silicic volcanisms and associated hydrothermal activities and also discuss the origin of silicic volcanics of the Central Indian Ocean Basin.
