Description |
Passive acoustic data off Grand Island, Goa were acquired using a single wideband hydrophone system deployed at the water depth of ~20.5 m during the month of April, 2014. The 4- elements hydrophone array with an aperture of 1.5 m having design frequency equivalent to 1.5 kHz was also moored at 10 m below the water surface. The analyses carried out reveals fish chorus belonging to the family Terapontidae. Significant beampattern degradation was observed particularly in the presence of fish chorus using delay and sum beamforming. Spatially interpolated virtual hydrophone element enhancement provides improved beamforming even in the presence of fish choruses
