Description There has been considerable research on sea-level-rise caused by global warming. The various reports of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) made assessments of observed sea level rise and future projections. Figure 1 shows a global mean sea level rise of 3.4 mm/year (with a standard error of ±0.4 mm/year) during the period from 1992 to 2016. The estimates have been made using dat a from satellite altimeters
