Description |

An extracellular lipase producing bacterium, identified as Bacillus coagulans based on the morphological and biochemical characters, was isolated from the soil. The maximum growth and lipase production was obtained after 72 h of bacterial culture. While the optimum pH and temperature for the production of lipases was 7 and 30ºC, respectively. Peptone and olive oil were found to be the best nitrogen and carbon sources, respectively. Na⁺ ions stimulated lipase production than K⁺ and Mg⁺⁺. |
