Diamond is well known hardest material and has been prized for centuries as a gem stone for jewellery of exceptional brilliance and lustre. Presently, fancy diamonds have become more popular for jewellery. Diamonds are impressive for the industrial as well as scientific use due to its hardness and high thermal conductivity. Natural diamonds are produced from 'pipe' contain some impurity, which is responsible for colour in brilliant diamonds. This report gives the different techniques for synthesizing diamond and production of colour in natural and synthetic diamonds. |
