A field experiment was conducted during 2004-2005 at Udai Pratap Autonomous College, Varanasi to find out the feasibility for the cultivation of Lemongrass (Cymbopogoll flexuosus) in salt affected soils of Indo-Gangetic plains of Uttar Pradesh Soil was made artificially salt affected through saline water having electrical conductivity 3, 6, 9, 12 and 16dSm⁻¹. Nitrogen, phosphorus ancl potash were applied @ 80, 60 and 40 kg/ha. Results revealed that Lemongrass crop can be grown on salt affected soils successfully, whereas other crops do not survive. |
