Description |
404-407
The annual biocalcification of aragonite by Macoma binnanica was found to be 314.3 g m-2y-1 which is 2.5 times higher than biomass production and almost equal to the elimination rate, 311.4 g m-2y-1. Rapid response of this biogenous aragonite to the processes of neutralization of the anthropogenic carbon dioxide through its dissolution was observed, which was almost close to its maximum capacity. |
