Description 1927-1938
A study has been carried out to query of suitable places for
planting and restoration of unique Lilium ledebourii species within the
frontiers of its natural habitat. Firstly, the digital layers influencing the query
of this species including altitude above the sea level, slope, aspect layer,
soil, and climate were determined using GIS. Then, a unique map for the land
form was obtained by overlaying the layers of altitude, slope and aspect layer.
Through overlaying the layer of the land form map and the layer of soil type,
environmental units’ map of level one was obtained. In the next stage, this map
and the annual precipitation average layer and the region’s climate were overlaid
and the final map of the environmentally homogenous regions was obtained. Produced layers were separated in the GIS to give
the appropriate conditions for the growth of Lilium ledebourii. The
results showed that the 19 regions with an approximate area of about 1,500
hectares were suitable for the planting of this species, and all of these
regions are located in the surroundings of the current natural site of this
species.
