Mangroves have been known to posses secondary metabolites that are useful against cancer. In spite of vast resources enriched with chemicals, the mangrove floras are largely unexplored for anticancer compounds. Hence, this paper reviews the works so far conducted on mangrove plants with a view to provide a baseline information for promoting the mangrove flora-based anticancer research. It also highlights the potential bioactive compounds isolated from them and their future prospective for complete eradication of cancer. |
