Kappaphycus (Rhodophyta) is highly demanded for its cell wall polysaccharide in nutraceutical and pharmaceutical applications. It is an exotic genus which authors tried to cultivate at Palshet, Guhagar, Maharashtra, India for one season during November (2012) to January(2013). Average biomass and growth rate were 236.05±2.36 kg and 5.20±0.05% respectively. The environmental conditions at Palshet were found suitable for commercial cultivation of Kappaphycus. Net profit calculated per raft (2 × 2m2) for one cycle of 45 days was Rs. 430.
