Numerical experiments have been performed using the baroclinic 3-dimensional coastal ocean model. The model is used to simulate the coastal circulation off east coast of India. The driving mechanism consists, in general, of wind stress forcing representative of that applying during the premonsoon, monsoon and postmonsoon seasons. The simulations are in good agreement with observation on upwelling/downwelling off Visakhapatnam during different seasons. |
