Community structure of benthic microalgae in the Cochin backwater from 10 selected stations were studied with special reference to indices of diversity (H'), richness (R1), Hill's diversity number (N1) and evenness index (E2). The correlation studies showed that the hydrographic parameters had significant influence on the distribution and composition of benthic microalgae in the backwaters. |
