Upwelling record for the last 1400 years has been documented from an innershelf sediment core based on conventional indices - CaCO3, organic matter and selected planktic foraminiferal species. The study reveals 4-5 intervals of increased abundance during similar to 150-200 y, 300-350 y, 700-800 y, around 900 y and 1100-1200 y BP. The abundance of upwelling indices during these time intervals reflects high productivity. |
