Sediment samples collected from different micro-environment of Kwada bay beaches during different seasons were subjected to textural analysis. Sediment of Aligadde and Kodar beaches fall predominantly in the medium and fine sand class respectively. The grain size decreases from Aligadde towards Kodar Beach (southerly). The sediment movement path(1), in general, is due northerly during postmonsoon (1988 and 1989) seasons, was significantly southerly during premonsoon and monsoon seasons. The study of CM patterns indicate higher energy conditions at Aligadde Bedach as compared to Kodar Beach. The majority of the sediments were transported as graded suspension. |
