Concentration of Ca, Mg and F with respect to chlorinity was studied in the major river mouths and coastal water of Orissa. A decreasing trend was observed in the ratio of the elements to chlorinity towards the off-shore regions. This may be due to fresh water influx through rivers. An increasing trend of the said ratio towards the northern part of the coast indicated comparatively higher fresh water inflow as compared to the southern part. |
