Normal beam NDT probes have been subjected to high hydrostatic pressure, using a pressure generating system developed at NPL. It was noticed that the probe continued to perform well at pressure upto about 4 x 10(6) Pa, even though it was seen that there was a leakage of water from the connector side. The results of measurement of electrical conductance and its frequency response and change of pulse echo sensitivity with increase of pressure have been reported and discussed. |
