Lipophilic extracts of five species of cyanobacteria, isolated from the mangroves, were tested against the bacteria and fungus for their inhibitory activity. Extracts of Anacystis dimidiata showed inhibitory activity against all 7 strains. Nostoc paludosum and Schizothrix sp. showed maximum activity against Bacillus subtilis. Phormidium fragile did not show any activity against B. subtilis. |
