Dissolved labile and nonlabile forms of Cd, Pb and Cu in Zuari estuary measured for a period of 14 months showed lowest concentrations during the SW monsoon (June-Sept.) while maximum concentrations were observed during the premonsoon season (Feb.-May). Results of experiments conducted to evaluate the importance of desorption/dissolution revealed that the metal input due to desorption and dissolution of the particulate phase may not be very significant in the estuary. |
