Spatial and seasonal variation of different physical processes governing the transport of salt and sediment of the Muvattupuzha river are discussed. Salt and suspended sediment due to tidal pumping was directed upstream, salt transport, due to vertical shear was upstream irrespective of seasons. Suspended sediment concentration was higher during hood tide. |
