Chlorophyll a, b, and a + b and a:b content of young, intermediate and old leaves, collected from areas (sun and shade), of 12 species of mangroves of Kali estuary were determined. Chl a, b and a + b varied significantly between leaf types and plant types. No significant difference was noticed in the chl a:b ratios. A significant relationship was observed between attenuated light and total chlorophyll content. |
