Toxic responses of D. incarnatus when exposed to combination of Cu, Cd and Hg have been elucidated. Concentrations of metals employed are relatively less than the individual 96 h LC50 values. The antagonism of the metals studied is the main reaction with respect to lethal toxicity. It appeared that less than, more than or simple additivity is controlled by the concentrations of heavy metal ions in the medium. D. incarnatus is highly sensitive to low level heavy metal stress. |
