Studies on variations in the meiofaunal abundance in the Gosthani estuary on the east coast of India revealed that nematodes, foraminiferans, and ostracods occurred in relatively higher numbers during the post southwest monsoon, southwest monsoon and summer seasons respectively. Bivalves, oligochaetes and polychaetes occurred in considerable abundance during southwest monsoon season. The mid tide abundance was higher than the high and low tide abundance. |
