Occurrence of monospecific bloom of A. glacialis (Castracane) in the nearshore water of Gopalpur, Bay of Bengal, was reported on 26 March 1988. The bloom began collapsing from mid-May mainly due to depletion of nutrients in the surface water and swarming of zooplankton dominated by copepods. |
