Sediments collected from a solar salt farm were analysed for mineralogy, grain size distribution and chemical composition to understand their geochemical behaviour during the salt crystallisation. High percentage of quartz and feldspars (90 to 95%) were observed throughout the salt farm. The sediments were mostly medium sand, showing moderate to poor sorting a positive skewness and platy to mesokurtic. Distribution of Si, Al, Na, Mn, Co, Cr, Cu, Ni, and Zn was determined and compared with data from other regions. |
