Nine algal species were analysed for their biochemical constituents like carbon, nitrogen, carbohydrate, protein, lipids and calorific values. Porphyra endiviifolium comparatively had the highest level of carbon (34.20%), nitrogen (4.67%), protein (27.95%) and lipids (3.85%).
