Seasonal breeding activities of Octolasmis cor and O. angulata collected from gill lamellae of crab and lobster, from Porto Novo waters, southeast coast of India, were determined by monitoring of the state of gonadal development at regular intervals during the entire year. Both barnacles exhibited continuous breeding activity throughout the year with interruptions during 2 months, one in the beginning of monsoon and the other in February in the case of O. cor and during November in the cast of O. angulata. Intensive breeding was observed in post monsoon and summer months. |
