Description |
1578-1583
During the study, 23 species belonging to 7 families were recorded. Copepod population density (8, 28,000 ind/m3) and species diversity (3.61) was found to be high in Manamelkudi (Station -3) when compared to the other stations. Present study revealed that the observed physico-chemical parameters directly influence the distribution and composition of calanoid copepods. Manamelkudi is considered to be a richest biodiversity hotspot of copepods in general and calanoids in particular. |
