Wind and wave datafrom a forecasting centre and in situ data obtained from the drilling rig were analysed for determining the weather windows in the coastal areas of Orissa. The number of days in various months when the wind speed and maximum. wave height will be less than a specified value (25 knot, 2.9 m.) was computed. On the basis of this it was shown that the best period for offshore operations in the area is Dec. to Feb. while May to Aug. being unsuitable. |
