Description 105-109
Population of Secutor insidiator spawns twice a year from July to November and March and April, while individual fish spawns once a season. High gonado-somatic indices precede spawning season and females always record higher values than males. It appears that the changes in the values of relative condition factor of the fish in various months are not due to reproductive cycle. Males mature between 71 mm and 101 mm of total length (TL) while females mature between 76 mm and 91 mm TL. Sex-ratio indicates dominance of females over males during greater part of the year and at different maturity stages. Fecundity ranges between 5085 and 12584 ova showing an increase in relation to length and weight of the fish.
