Activities of tissue aspartate and alanine aminotransferases increase in Metapenaeus monoceros exposed to phosphamidon (0.4 ppm), reaching a maximum at 12 h after exposure. Alanine aminotransferase activity is more than that of aspartate aminotransferase indicating an adaptive response by the animal. Elevated activities of these enzymes confirm phosphamidon toxic stress and an enhancement in gluconeogenesis. |
