Biomass of phytoplankton and zooplankton, measured as particulate oxidizable carbon, shows that at shallowest stations (5 m) there is large excess of phytoplankton organic carbon over zooplankton carbon in all the samples. There is no significant relationship between chl a and either glycollic acid or dissolved carbohydrates in these samples. |
