Annual variations of net radiation, total energy transfer, surplus energy and sea surface temperature of 2 stations (17ᵒN, 61ᵒE and 17ᵒN, 69ᵒE) in the Arabian Sea and 1 station (17ᵒN, 87ᵒE) in the Bay of Bengal are compared. Net radiation maximum is observed in April and minimum in December at all stations. At the station in the Bay of Bengal the total energy flux from the sea surface is more during winter than during SW monsoon period, whereas in the Arabian Sea stations it is reverse. During winter the Bay of Bengal station shows more energy deficit than the other 2 stations. The sea surface temperature follows the trend of the surplus energy, lagging behind nearly by a month. |
