Seasonal abundance, sex ratio, fecundity and brood mortality were studied in E. chilkensis and I. chilkensis, from the Vellar-Coleroon estuarine complex. Both species were available throughout the year and were continuous breeders. Sex ratio showed seasonal fluctuations. Brood mortality was high during monsoon months (October-December). |
