Detailed studies have been made on waves approaching the Visakhapatnam Coast in different seasons, nearshore circulation and some current measurements in a region influenced by the Outer Harbour and also in an isolated region away from this structural influences (the Lawson's Bay Region). The present study shows that all those regions of wave convergence prior to the construction of the Outer Harbour have become either regions of mild divergence or mild convergence. This change naturally causes light erosion and deposition in different sections during different periods and the shorefine on the whole is in better equilibrium than it was before. |
