Glucose and ammonium sulphate enhanced P-solubilization from insoluble calcium phosphate. Trace metal solution containing Fe2+, Zn2+, Mn2+, Co2+ and Cu2+ also stimulated P-solubilization. When fish bones were substituted for calcium phosphate a maximum amount (38 to 46%) of phosphorus was leached into the liquid medium in 6 days. When the estuarine mud was supplemented with fish bones and inoculated with Torulopsis glabrata P-solubilization was 53, 60 and 61% respectively in case of bones of fish Scomberomorus guttatus, Mugil cephalus and Rastrelliger kanagurta. |
