Optimum growth of the alga was recorded at 1.02 M NaCl, pH 8 and 0.1 mM NaHCO3 concentrations in the growth medium. Marginal rise in pH during growth was recorded which is probably due to consumption of carbon dioxide for photosynthesis and nitrate for protein synthesis. |
