Description |

Seabed sediment samples off Trivandrum Coast, Kerala, India contain pellets and microfossil fillings of glauconite in the fine sand and coarse silt fraction. The 2 glauconite morphotypes appear to have originated in situ by diagenetic aging of faecal pellets of clay and clay fillings of foraminiferal tests. Presence of gluconite also suggests low rates of clastic sedimentation in this seabed. |
